Hyundai was a sponsor of the 44th Annual NAACP Image Awards.

For the fourth consecutive year, Hyundai was a premiere sponsor of the NAACP Image Awards.  The NAACP Image Awards is the nation’s premier multi-cultural awards show celebrating the outstanding achievement and performances of people of color in the arts (television, recording, literature, motion picture and writing & directing), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.

Given the history of the location and the dynamism of the new generation of African American cultural and entertainment icons being honored, Hyundai created a special theme entitled: WE ARE ONE to honor the achievements of this year’s nominees.

Hyundai hosted the Image Awards’ signature Post Show Gala event featuring more than 1,500 influencers, tastemakers and celebrities. The 2013 Post Show Gala took place in the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles on Friday, February 1 – the official start of Black History Month.  Guests attending the Post Show Gala event were treated to a premiere live performance featuring 4-time NAACP award nominated R&B artist, Kem in the Regency Ballroom which was transformed into the Hyundai Lounge for the evening.
